Original binding, title upsidedown (original) 15,5×22,5cm app. Well preserved with only minor discolorations and some minor stains. More photos available upon request!
Rare original Meiji period woodblock printed ukiyo-e (‘pictures of the floating world’) on original handmade paper. Hokusai Manga from his 15 volume serie, volume five containing scenes of daily life, as well as battle scenes, scenes also typically Japanese legends, animals and flowers. This volume is particularly concerned with architectural elements (gates, temples …) as well as demons and Mount Fuji. Colors are black and white and “flesh” color. Complete with 55 woodblock prints
