Conradin Clavuot (born 1962) is known for his unpretentious approach to architecture. He is one of a number of younger architects, many of whom practiced the traditionalism of “analogue architecture” at ETH Zurich and also worked for some time in Peter Zumthor’s studio. Architects who are not fixated on a certain formal language and who are characterized by a cautious and conscious, but at the same time completely unsentimental approach to tradition. Conradin Clavuot sees architecture as a “mediator between people and the environment” and as “inspiration for daily life”. He has received several national and international awards for his work. He has been running his own architecture office in Chur since 1988. In this monograph that he has edited with Thomas Schubert he shows his favorite buildings and projects that have had a lasting impact on his work
