In her work, the Leipzig artist Anna Schimkat focuses on the investigation of various natural, social and cultural realities. Site-specific and sensually tangible spaces and sound installations. The book documents seven works from the years 2010-2017: Komposition an zehn Fenstern, Wind (und Windsigns), C8H11NO2, Rondo Nr1-4, Composition For a Trainstation, Spinhouse, Geräusch als Farbe, Note Sensible und eine unvollständige Ansammlung von Possible Noises. Two work discussions with Jan Apitz and Michael Barthel and a text by Susanne Nemmertz, as well as several illustrations from the artist’s sketchbooks, introduce her way of working. The accompanying CD presents the sound pieces of the works documented in the catalog as stereo versions. Book designed by Marian Reinig & Erik Johannsen. Fine copy.
